11th annual Fall Lunch and Lecture series (taken from an email announcement)
This series will be a kick-off for 350 Years of Carolina History (1670-2020), featuring expert lecturers and historians from around our state. This year's lectures will begin October 17th and run Thursdays through November 21st. Arcadia Publishing/History Press is the series' sponsor.
The Grimke Sisters with tour guide Carol Ezell-Gilson
Charlestonians Sarah and Angelina Grimke were first female abolitionist agents in the country and pioneers of women's rights. The presentation will include information about the prestigious Grimke family of Charleston, early influences on the girls, and their spiritual journey to become abolitionists and feminists.
