This series will be a kick-off for 350 Years of Carolina History (1670-2020), featuring expert lecturers and historians from around our state. This year's lectures will begin October 17th and run Thursdays through November 21st. Arcadia Publishing/History Press is the series' sponsor

This presentation tells the story of Charleston from the perspective of the African-American experience, beginning with the English slave trade and the practices of urban slavery, continuing through the Civil War, Reconstruction, the Jim Crow Era, and to the local fight for Civil Rights.
