The entire program is outdoors. The first hour is a guided walking tour and the second hour is the flight demonstration with birds in untethered, free-flight. Optional lunch at own expense at Sewee Restaurant on Highway 17 less than 1 mile north of the Birds of Prey. NOTE: Sewee Restaurant does not take reservations, wait times are usually less than 30 minutes.

The Center for Birds of Prey offers a unique insight into the lives and impressive adaptations of birds of prey from around the world including eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, kites, and vultures. With nearly 50 species represented, the Center’s collection is one of the largest and most diverse in the United States. The free-flight demonstration is one of the most unique and exciting aspects of the visitor experience. See a falcon dive at speeds over 100 MPH. Listen closely as an owl coasts past your head without making a sound. Watch as trained hawks and vultures soar with wild raptors above the center’s flying fields. Each flying demonstration includes a period for questions and an up-close visit with the flying team birds. The Center's grounds are handicapped-accessible with level pathways consisting of a small pea gravel and are easily navigable. Benches are also located throughout the campus for those wanting to sit and enjoy a break or moment of natural beauty. Programs are rain or shine, but if the weather includes thunder and lightning, delays and cancellations may occur to protect the safety of guests, staff, and birds.

Please watch for email from Herb White on March 26 and 27 if the event is postponed due to weather. If program must be canceled after arrival and payment, digital rain checks will be offered that will allow for a visit at a later date at no additional cost.
