“Reimagined Fashion: Creation of the Future Past” will be on display in the Historic Textile Gallery and features original works by local designers from diverse artistic backgrounds. Each piece is inspired by objects in the museum’s Historic Textile Collection of 10,000 fabrics from the early 18th century to present day, reimagined as contemporary garments, jewelry, and accessories. 

Virginia Theerman, Charleston Museum's curator of historic textiles, said local designers visited the archives last year to seek inspiration and create designs and were given a year to bring their projects to life.
