The Hunley was located in 1995 about 5½ miles ESE of Fort Sumter and raised in 2000. The innovative hand-cranked vessel was delivered to the Warren Lasch Conservation Center, where an international team of scientists are at work to conserve the submarine and piece together clues to solve the mystery of her disappearance. This docent-led private tour includes history, forensic science, archaeology, and conservation of the Hunley.

The tour is twice as long as the weekend public tours. We will have time to view displays and visit the gift shop. There is a flight of 17 steps with handrail if you want to see the Hunley during the tour.

Please register by January 9.

We will then email you about advance payment details and plan lunch for those who wish to have lunch in the Park Circle area after the tour. Ticket price is $20 per person unless we have less than 20 people attending at which time the cost will be slightly higher to cover the $400 minimum per private tour. For example, if only 16 attend the cost will be $25. Lunch at your own expense.
